When marking animals as dead via multiedit (eg: culling or discarding) an error dialog was appearing during the update process, as shown below:

EVENT_RECORD creates the history record that gets associated with the animal.
Assuming you were clicking "Continue" (and you should ALWAYS click continue - otherwise actions later in the process will not complete) the values you're setting in multiedit would have been saved fine. Only the "Date of Death" history item added in the 1052 build is failing, the operation itself (setting the animal to dead, setting termination date etc.) was working as expected. As the history item noting the termination date was a new improvement in 1052, there was actually no loss of data or functionality when compared with the earlier release, other than the annoyance of the additional dialog(s).
This problem was quickly reported by a number of clients (many thanks for that!) and it's now been fixed in the 1053 build, which we're releasing today as a hotfix. The other features and fixes slated for 1053 have been pushed back to 1054 - which is coming soon.
We've also made major inroads into the long standing problem of unicode sex symbols not displaying properly on the Windows platforms.
